Abstract Paintings
Also known as Greve's "Ode to Rothko Series". Although none of the paintings are remotely copies of any of Rothko's works, the inspiration (or debt) is obvious. These works were done as an "ode" or "elegy" paintings, during a period of dealing with a close friend's death when subject matter could not contain Greve's complexity of feelings. However, they are definitely more celebratory of life, rather than focusing on death. There are works on canvas and on paper in these series totaling over 240 paintings to date.
